15 20W 12-220V simple inverter project
The output of this inverter project is square wave at 2.4kohm load is about 90ma max
Load must not include equipments with motor that operates in purely sinewave source of 50 or 60 Hz frequency .The circuit is good in lighting like cfls and incandescent lamps. but ensure first that the load must not exceed the 25W for proper operation.
Resistor is rated 5W 100ohm
transformer is 4A 220V to 12V-0-12V
for more protection, provide 2A fuse and a switch in series to the battery

Thanks for nice and very simple inverter. now i want to know if use cfl bulb then is it flicking or light up normally ?
ReplyDeletei tried it with CFL and it worked just fine. But i noticed that the lamp is not as bright as using 220 main source. It could be due to the rms voltage value is much lower than the 220V main.
ReplyDeleteCAN IT LIGHT UP A 11WATT FLUROCENT POPRELY WITH FULL POWER.LIGHT WILLB BRIGHTER OR NOT???
ReplyDeletethis inverter design is one of the simplest, it can light up cfl but we cant expect that the emitted light is its full capacity because the output voltage of this inverter drops when loaded. I tried it also with cfl and encountered same problem. But the good thing is i lighted up a cfl without using the 220V main.
ReplyDeleteDEAR SIR,
ReplyDeleteI AM NEW IN ELECTRONICS,PLESE TELL ME WHICH TYPE OF TRANSISTORS ARE THIS, ARE THEY NPN OR PNP.
SIR ALSO TELL ME THAT CAN I USE BOTH TRANSISTOR OF SAME TYPE FOR THIS CIRCUIT
zaeem
ReplyDeleteit is NPN power transistor. You can use the same NPN transistor but be sure that the type of transistor you are using is atleast 4A current capacity.
dear sir,
ReplyDeletesir kindly tell me can i use transformer without center tapped,
i mean if i connect 12 volt step down transformer in reverse, is this circuit works?
I never tried using two transformer..But based on what i know, the circuit will not work using that configuration. It should be only one transformer with center tap for the circuit to work.
ReplyDeleteCan u utilize that transformer for dual purpose i.e can we use that transfor for rectification purpose to charge the battery and inverter when needed
ReplyDeleteIts a good idea that you use the transformer for inverter and charging at the same time. Ill be honest with, I never tried that idea but i believe it is possible. Try using transformer with multi tap, let say primary voltage rating is 110V or 220V and secondary voltage rating +15V, +12V, 0V, -12V (multi-tap). use the 15V tap for charging
ReplyDeleteJust few minutes ago..I made the circuit..
ReplyDeleteIt works..But the CFL(Phillips 20W) is flicking ..
and the voltage at 12-0-12 transformer end is showing 9 Volts..
I am using Exide 12V 100 AH, 2 Amps Fuse & 220/12-0-12 ,3A transformer.
Please advice how to avoid flicking!
Thanks in Advance.
please help me for making 80watt type inverter circuit
ReplyDeleteThis is a nice project for a simple inverter. Can you add some photos on it? I will really appreciate it. Thanks!
ReplyDeletewhat is the ampere hour of 12volt lead acid
ReplyDeletebattery?
whwt is the working of this project....plz i need.........
